Privacy Policy

Effective: July 25, 2026

This notice describes our privacy practices in clear language. If you have questions or want to exercise a privacy right, contact us at [email protected].

1. Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how DefiAdda ("DefiAdda", "we", "us", or "our") handles personal information when you visit or use our websites, applications, market tools, community features, portfolio tracker, alerts, and virtual trading games (collectively, the "Services").

DefiAdda provides information, community, simulation, and personal tracking tools. We do not execute real-money trades, hold customer funds, or act as a crypto exchange or wallet custodian.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Account information: email address, username, display name, password-derived authentication data, verification status, preferred currency, and account settings.
  • Profile information: biography, country, website, avatar, and other details you choose to provide. Some profile fields may be visible publicly.
  • Community content: activities, comments, replies, reactions, reports, links, and uploaded media. Public submissions can be viewed, copied, or shared by others.
  • Portfolio and simulation data: manually entered holdings, transactions, purchase dates, prices, fees, notes, alerts, watchlists, virtual orders, and game activity. Do not enter wallet seed phrases, private keys, or payment-card details.
  • Technical and security data: device and browser information, session identifiers, timestamps, approximate or anonymized network information, request and error logs, authentication events, and fraud or abuse signals.
  • Analytics and preferences: consent choices, theme and interface preferences, and—where you consent—information about pages viewed and interactions measured through Google Analytics.
  • Communications: messages and attachments you send to support, account-recovery requests, and records of operational emails.

3. Sources of information

We receive information directly from you, automatically from your device, from an identity provider when you choose Google sign-in, and from public or commercial market and news sources. Google may provide basic identity details according to your Google permissions. Market information may be supplied by Binance and other identified data providers.

4. How and why we use information

We use personal information to:

  • create, authenticate, secure, and administer accounts;
  • provide profiles, community tools, portfolios, alerts, and virtual games;
  • calculate portfolio and simulated performance from your entries;
  • send verification, security, recovery, notification, and service emails;
  • personalize settings and remember your choices;
  • moderate content and investigate spam, fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
  • diagnose failures, maintain reliability, and improve the Services;
  • measure usage when analytics consent has been provided; and
  • comply with law, enforce our rules, and establish or defend legal claims.

5. Legal bases

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar law applies, we rely on the performance of our agreement with you to provide requested Services; our legitimate interests in security, moderation, service improvement, and protecting users; your consent for optional analytics or other consent-based processing; and compliance with legal obligations. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already performed. We assess and balance legitimate interests against your rights where required.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use necessary cookies or local storage for signed-in sessions, security, consent records, and interface preferences. These are needed for requested functionality or to protect the Services. Google Analytics is loaded only where enabled and permitted by your consent choice. You can change analytics consent through the available cookie controls or clear stored choices in your browser. Blocking necessary storage may prevent account features from working.

7. When we disclose information

We may disclose information:

  • to hosting, database, storage, email-delivery, analytics, authentication, security, and support providers acting for us;
  • to other users and the public when you publish profile or community content;
  • to authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or respond to valid legal process;
  • in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of all or part of the service, subject to appropriate safeguards; or
  • with another party when you direct us or give valid consent.

We do not sell personal information for money.

8. International transfers

Our providers and users may operate in countries other than yours. When applicable law requires it, we use recognized transfer mechanisms and safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Laws in a destination country may differ from those where you live.

9. Data retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing an active account, meeting legal and accounting obligations, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and maintaining security. Retention depends on the data type and context. When an account is deleted, information is deleted or de-identified according to our deletion process, although limited copies may remain temporarily in protected backups or where law, fraud prevention, or legal claims require retention. Public content may remain where necessary to preserve conversation integrity, but may be disassociated from the deleted account where appropriate.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing; receive portable data; withdraw consent; and appeal or complain about a privacy decision. You may update many details or request account deletion in Settings. You may also email us. We may need to verify your identity before acting and may retain information where an exception under applicable law applies.

You may lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority where you live or work. Please contact us first if you would like us to address a concern directly.

11. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls, secure session handling, and monitoring. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Use a unique password, protect your account and email, and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. DefiAdda will never ask for your wallet seed phrase or private key.

12. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

13. Third-party services and links

The Services contain market data, embedded media, news, and links supplied by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Opening or interacting with an embedded video, social post, or external site may allow that provider to receive device or usage information. Review the provider's terms before interacting.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Services, providers, or law change. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice where required.
