Hong Kong-based Animoca Brands is preparing for a potential listing in New 
York, citing US President Donald Trump&#8217;s relaxed regulatory stance on digital 
assets as a window of opportunity to enter the world&#8217;s largest capital market.
Animoca executive chair Yat Siu told the Financial Times that an announcement 
could be made soon, with the company currently evaluating various shareholding 
structures.
Siu said the decision to pursue a US listing would not hinge on market 
conditions but rather on timing and strategic positioning.
Animoca, which was delisted from the Australian Securities Exchange in 2020 
over governance concerns and the status of some cryptocurrencies, has since 
built a robust investment portfolio, including stakes in OpenSea, Kraken and 
Consensys.
The company reported unaudited earnings of $97 million from $314 million in 
revenue for the year ending December 2024, a sharp increase from the previous 
year.

Siu told the FT that Animoca stands as the largest non-financial crypto firm 
globally, with $300 million in cash and stablecoins and over $538 million in 
digital assets.
He also hinted that other Animoca portfolio companies, including US-based 
Kraken, may follow suit with potential listings in the US in 2025 or 2026.

## Crypto firms consider US comeback
Under former President Joe Biden, federal agencies launched numerous lawsuits 
and enforcement actions against digital asset firms. Siu said this regulatory 
hostility stifled innovation and discouraged overseas companies from entering 
the US market.
In contrast, Trump&#8217;s return to office has been accompanied by pledges to 
support the crypto sector and a rollback of enforcement activity. Siu 
described this as &#8220;a unique moment in time,&#8221; adding that not taking advantage 
of it &#8220;would be one heck of a wasted opportunity.&#8221;
Since Trump&#8217;s election victory, the US Securities and Exchange Commission has 
dropped or paused over a dozen enforcement cases against crypto companies.
Additionally, the Department of Justice recently announced the dissolution of 
its cryptocurrency enforcement unit, signaling a softer approach to the 
sector.
This hands-on approach appears to be boosting industry confidence. OKX, for 
example, has announced plans to establish a US headquarters in San Jose, 
California, just months after settling a $504 million case with US 
authorities.
On April 28, Nexo, which left the US at the end of 2022, citing a lack of 
regulatory clarity, revealed that it is reentering the US market.

greed zone even after the price surge above $104,000. Bitcoin Fear &amp; Greed 
Index Is Still Inside Greed Territory The &#8220;Fear &amp; Greed Index&#8221; refers to an 
indicator created by Alternative that tells us about the average sentiment 
present among the investors in the Bitcoin and wider cryptocurrency markets.

five factors to determine the trader mentality: trading volume, volatility, 
market cap dominance, social media sentiment, and Google Trends. To represent

hundred. All values under 47 suggest the dominance of fear in the market, 
while those above 53 imply that of greed. Values lying between these cutoffs 
correspond to a net neutral mentality. Besides these three main sentiments, 
there are also two special regions known as the extreme greed and extreme 
fear. The former occurs above a value of 75, while the latter below 26. Now, 
here is how the latest value of the Bitcoin Fear &amp; Greed Index is like: As is 
visible above, the Bitcoin Fear &amp; Greed Index has a value of 70 at the moment, 
which suggests the investors as a whole share a sentiment of greed. This 
greedy mentality is also decently strong, as it&#8217;s only a few units away from 
the extreme greed territory. Earlier in the month, the trader mentality 
declined to a neutral level as the price surge took a pause, but with the 
latest continuation to the rally, the market mood has improved once more. 
Interestingly, though, despite Bitcoin approaching its all-time high (ATH), 
the investors have still not become extremely greedy. If history is to go by, 
this could actually play into the favor of the asset&#8217;s price. The reason 
behind this is that the cryptocurrency has often tended to move in a direction 
that&#8217;s opposite to the crowd opinion. The probability of such a contrary move 
taking place has only gone up the more sure the investors become of a 
direction, so the extreme zones, where sentiment is the strongest, is where

of hype hasn&#8217;t developed among the investors just yet, so Bitcoin could

seen a small pullback since then as its price is now back at $103,000.
