Coinbase Quietly Holds 2.7  Million Bitcoin Under Management, Worth About $261  Billion

Prominent crypto analyst Gert Van Lagen has shared a positive market 
prediction hinting that the altseason may soon begin. Based on a fully formed 
bullish pattern, the Dutch market expert postulates that altcoins are on the

Trillion Valuation In Altseason The cup-and-handle is a classic bullish 
continuation pattern in technical analysis. It usually signifies an asset&#8217;s 
potential to continue rising after a period of consolidation. According to Van 
Lagen, the cup-and-handle pattern has appeared on the altcoin market bi-weekly 
chart. It consists of a U-shaped price movement (cup), which represents a 
period of gradual decline and recovery as seen between 2022 to mid 2024. Van 
Lagen explains that investors typically accumulate assets during this period, 
perhaps due to an extended downside market prior to a rebound. This cup 
movement is followed by the handle, which often resembles a small descending 
channel as seen in 2025. The handle usually represents a breakout and retest 
zone, paving the way for the altseason. For the altseason to occur, the 
altcoin market cap must convincingly break above the neckline of the cup-and- 
handle pattern, which is currently at $813.18 billion. If this breakout 
occurs, inducing an altseason, Van Lagen analysis shows that total altcoin 
valuation could rise to around $5.4 trillion before 2026, indicating a

To Happen In other news, analysts continue to debate the feasibility of an 
altseason for the current bull cycle. Crypto analyst and Web3 growth manager 
Cas Abbé joined this discussion, highlighting three reasons the altseason is 
certain to come to pass. Notably, Cas Abbé acknowledges the altseason has been 
delayed, citing a lack of sufficient liquidity due to a large amount of token 
unlocks and the ripple effects of the memecoins craze driven by Pumpfun. 
However, the analyst remains confident in the prospects of an altseason due to 
multiple reasons, one of which is the potential for multiple altcoin ETF 
approvals. Cas Abbé explains that the US Securities and Exchange Commission is 
likely to issue the green light for several altcoin ETFs in Q3/Q4 of 2025, 
which holds the final deadline for most of these ETFs. Following these 
approvals, the analyst predicts a rise in institutional investments, which 
could produce a rallying effect similar seen with the Bitcoin ETFs in 2024. 
Furthermore, Abbé states the Fed is likely to begin rate cuts in June as well 
as terminate all quantitative tightening measures. Both moves are expected to 
be followed by a liquidity injection, untimely creating a risk-on environment 
in financial markets that will support the growth of altcoins. Finally, the 
Web3 growth manager expects regulatory clarity by Q3/Q4 2025, which will allow 
banks to comfortably engage the crypto market, leading to massive liquidity. 
At press time, the total crypto market remains valued at $2.94 trillion, with

Cup-And-Handle Pattern Signals Altseason Ready For Launch – Analyst

Strategy co-founder Michael Saylor hinted at an impending Bitcoin (BTC) 
purchase, marking the fourth consecutive week of purchases by the BTC treasury 
company.
The company&#8217;s most recent acquisition occurred on April 28 when Strategy 
purchased 15,355 BTC, valued at over $1.4 billion at the time, bringing the 
company&#8217;s total holdings to 553,555 BTC.
According to data from SaylorTracker, Strategy is up approximately 39% on its 
investment, representing over $15 billion in unrealized gains.

Bitcoin investors continue closely monitoring the company, which has been a 
major driver of direct institutional exposure to BTC by popularizing the 
Bitcoin corporate treasury concept and indirectly through institutions holding 
Strategy&#8217;s stock in their investment portfolios.

## Strategy misses Q1 analyst estimates but continues stacking Bitcoin
Strategy fell short of analyst estimates for Q1 2025, reporting approximately 
$111 million in revenue, down by 3.6% from Q1 2024 and missing analyst 
expectations by 5%.
However, the company also reported that it acquired 61,497 BTC so far in 2025 
and also revealed plans to raise $21 billion through an equity offering to 
finance the purchase of more BTC.

Asset manager Richard Byworth recently suggested that Strategy should acquire 
companies with ample cash reserves and convert those fiat cash reserves to 
Bitcoin for its treasury.
Byworth added that Strategy could also purchase Bitcoin on the open market as 
exchange balances dwindle, rather than the over-the-counter (OTC) transactions 
between private parties that do not affect the market exchange price.
Doing so would push prices higher, driving up the value of Strategy&#8217;s Bitcoin 
reserves and acting as a catalyst attracting even more investors to BTC, the 
asset manager said.
Strategy&#8217;s effect on Bitcoin&#8217;s price and Bitcoin adoption continues to draw 
intense discussion over the role of the company as it relates to market 
dynamics.
Adam Livingston, a BTC analyst and author of &#8220;The Bitcoin Age and The Great 
Harvest,&#8221; recently argued that Strategy&#8217;s demand for BTC is synthetically 
halving Bitcoin by outpacing the daily miner output.
Livingston pointed out that Strategy&#8217;s average daily rate of Bitcoin 
accumulation of roughly 2,087 BTC far outstrips the collective daily mined 
supply of around 450 BTC.
