Bitcoin (BTC) faces &#8220;unprecedented&#8221; US dollar correlation as new BTC price 
research gives a $75,000 floor.
In one of his latest analyses on April 18, network economist Timothy Peterson 
calculated that BTC/USD may rise as high as $138,000 within the next three 
months.
## BTC price probabilities give bulls the upper hand
Bitcoin is navigating highly unusual macroeconomic conditions as a result of 
the ongoing US trade war, but history still offers clues as to where BTC price 
action may head next.
For Peterson, the US High Yield Index Effective Yield, currently at over 8%, 
holds the key.
&#8220;This has happened 38 times since 2010 (monthly data),&#8221; he summarized.

With BTC/USD performance thus skewed to the upside, Peterson gave hope to 
those waiting for a rematch of all-time highs from January.
&#8220;This likely puts Bitcoin between $75k and $138k within 90 days,&#8221; he 
concluded.
Bitcoin would need to deliver 62% gains within that period to achieve that 
maximum level.
As Cointelegraph reported, Peterson has been a frequent contributor to BTC 
price forecasts in 2025, with one of his proprietary tools, Lowest Price 
Forward, giving 95% odds of a $69,000 floor in March.
## Bitcoin DXY correlation will flip negative
Turning his attention to the dramatic drop in the US dollar index (DXY) thanks 
to US trade tariffs, he predicted that its unusual positive correlation with 
BTC would ultimately end.

&#8220;This level of BTC-USD correlation is unprecedented. The relationship is not 
causal, but reflective of underlying conditions affecting both,&#8221; he explained. 
&gt; &#8220;Historically inverse, the relationship flipped in 2024 as both assets began 
&gt; responding to the same macro stressors: tightening liquidity, high real 
&gt; rates, and global risk aversion. BTC will decouple and rise when real

DXY continued to stay below the key 100 mark on April 18, per data from 
Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView, reflecting some of its lowest 
levels in the past three years.
Earlier, separate analysis nonetheless saw the potential for Bitcoin to 
directly benefit from dollar weakness in a manner similar to the early innings 
of the bull run in 2023.

Ripple is again breaking into the Asia market with a new XRP product, which 
would help drive institutional adoption. This move has been made in 
partnership with HashKey Capital, which launched this fund in order to expand 
institutional access to the altcoin. Ripple Invests In HashKey’s XRP Product 
In an X post, Hashkey Capital announced that it is launching Asia’s first XRP 
Tracker Fund with Ripple as an early investor. The asset manager noted that 
this move represents a significant step in expanding institutional access to

Drive The Recovery The firm further stated that it chose XRP because the 
altcoin is at the forefront of cross-border payments, thanks to Ripple&#8217;s 
payment services, and enables faster, cheaper, and more efficient transactions 
than traditional systems, such as SWIFT. XRP is also enabling the tokenization 
of Real World Assets (RWAs) on its native blockchain, the XRP Ledger (XRPL). 
HashKey added that financial institutions and enterprises worldwide are 
already using XRP. The asset manager also noted that the XRP Tracker Fund is 
its third tracker fund, following its Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded 
funds (ETFs). The firm also raised the possibility of converting the fund into 
an ETF within the next one to two years, subject to regulatory approval. This 
move will further broaden institutional access. Beyond the XRP Tracker Fund, 
HashKey Capital and Ripple are also partnering to explore new investment 
products, cross-border DeFi solutions, and tokenization. This includes the 
potential launch of a money market fund (MMF) on the XRPL. Meanwhile, for the 
tracker fund, Ripple will seed the initial investment. Hashkey stated that 
with Ripple as an anchor investor, this fund marks a “deepening collaboration” 
between two leaders in the blockchain space. The asset manager reaffirmed that 
the goal is to bring more institutional capital into regulated XRP products 
and the broader digital asset ecosystem. Ripple continues to make moves to 
boost XRP’s adoption. The crypto firm recently agreed to acquire prime broker 
Hidden Road for $1.25 billion, one of the largest deals in crypto history. 
Through this acquisition, the crypto firm aims to boost XRP and the RLUSD’s 
utility as it looks to make its mark in both the traditional finance (TradFi) 
and decentralized finance (DeFi) space. XRP Could Allegedly Play A Major Role 
in The Federal Reserve’s Plans In an X post, crypto commentator CryptoGeek 
alleged that the Federal Reserve has officially hinted that they may use XRP 
to power the blockchain component of their FedNow payment system. CryptoGeek 
added that this has come following multiple rumored meetings with Ripple. 
However, the Fed has yet to make any official statement on this development.

getting financial institutions, especially US banks, to adopt its payment
