earlier today, as US President Donald Trump&#8217;s country-specific reciprocal 
tariffs are set to take effect on April 9. The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin 
(BTC), has declined by more than 7% in the past 24 hours, and analysts predict 
further near-term challenges for the digital asset.​ US Tariffs Lead To Crypto 
Market Rout Notably, Trump&#8217;s baseline 10% tariffs on all countries went into 
effect on April 5, while the higher, country-specific reciprocal tariffs are 
scheduled to commence on April 9. These developments have raised fears of a

assets market has felt the impact of these tariffs, with BTC slipping over 7% 
in the past 24 hours &#8211; from approximately $82,300 on April 6, to a low of 
around $74,500 earlier today.​ Altcoins such as Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), 
and XRP have experienced even greater declines, tumbling by 17.2%, 16%, and 
15.8% respectively over the past 24 hours. Similarly, the total crypto market 
capitalization has shed almost $130 billion during the same period.​ 
Commenting on BTC’s price action amid the market turmoil, seasoned crypto 
analyst Ali Martinez highlighted that there may be more challenges ahead for 
the leading digital asset, as it has flashed the infamous death cross on the 
daily chart, indicating the potential for further price pullbacks.​ For the 
uninitiated, a death cross is a bearish technical signal that appears when the 
50-day moving average (MA) drops below the 200-day MA. It often suggests a 
potential downtrend or increased selling pressure in the market. Similarly, 
veteran trader Peter Brandt shared the following chart, showing BTC trading in 
a symmetrical triangle pattern, with a wedge retest located at $81,024. The 
trader hinted that BTC may follow a drop to the 50% retracement level of 
$54,000.​ To elaborate, ​a symmetrical triangle pattern in trading is a chart 
formation where the price consolidates with converging trend lines connecting 
a series of lower highs and higher lows, indicating a period of indecision 
before a potential breakout in either direction. Similarly, a wedge retest 
refers to the price action where, after breaking out from a wedge pattern &#8211; a 
formation with converging trend lines &#8211; the price returns to test the breakout 
level before continuing in the breakout direction. ​ An Opportunity To Stack 
Bitcoin? While heightened fears surrounding further price declines in BTC have 
unsettled investors and traders alike, some risk-seeking investors view this

CryptoQuant analyst BorisVest, in a recent analysis, emphasized that if BTC 
falls between $65,000 to $71,000, it could offer a favorable buying

A crypto lawyer has sued the US Department of Homeland Security, alleging the 
agency may know who created Bitcoin &#8212; compelling the department to share what 
it knows.
The Freedom of Information Act lawsuit was filed by James Murphy, who based 
his accusations on claims made by DHS Special Agent Rana Saoud at a conference 
in April 2019, where she said a few of her colleagues had previously met with 
four people involved in creating Bitcoin.
&#8220;My FOIA lawsuit simply asks for the notes, email and other documents relating 
to that alleged interview,&#8221; Murphy posted to X after announcing the April 7 
suit. 
&#8220;IF the interview really happened as the DHS Agent claimed, there should be 
documentation of the substance of that meeting,&#8221; added Murphy, who goes by 
MetaLawMan on X.

Speaking at the OffshoreAlert Conference North America in Miami in April 2019, 
Saoud said DHS agents met with the four people it believed to have created 
Bitcoin, asking what their motives were and what the &#8220;end game&#8221; is for 
Bitcoin.
&#8220;The agents flew to California and they realized that he wasn&#8217;t alone in 
creating this, there were three other people, they sat down and talked with 
them to find out how this actually works and what the reason for it was,&#8221; 
Saoud said in the presentation, which is available on YouTube.
If the DHS resists disclosure, Murphy said he will &#8220;pursue the case to 
conclusion&#8221; to solve the mystery.
Murphy, however, noted that it is possible that Saoud and the other DHS agents 
were mistaken and did not interview the real Satoshi Nakamoto.

Murphy is being assisted by former Assistant US Attorney Brian Field, who 
specializes in Freedom of Information Act litigation.
The purpose of the Freedom of Information Act is to promote transparency and 
accountability by granting the public access to information held by the 
government.
## Efforts to identify Satoshi Nakamoto have failed
The lawsuit follows a wave of recent efforts attempting to uncover Satoshi&#8217;s 
identity. 
Last October, a controversial HBO documentary claimed that Peter Todd, a 
Bitcoin cypherpunk, invented Bitcoin. Todd refuted that conclusion, and most 
industry pundits said HBO&#8217;s evidence was weak.
Nick Szabo, Adam Back and Hal Finney have also had their names tied to 
Satoshi&#8217;s identity. Szabo and Back regularly refute claims they&#8217;re Satoshi, as 
did Finney before he died in 2013.
Meanwhile, members of the Bitcoin community are split on whether unveiling 
Satoshi&#8217;s identity would be a net positive for Bitcoin.
Some worry that revealing Satoshi&#8217;s identity could compromise Bitcoin&#8217;s 
decentralized ethos and put Satoshi&#8217;s safety at risk, while others want to be 
reassured that Bitcoin wasn&#8217;t created by the US government.
